Sam Lachow and Raz hit our inbox with a new video two days ago, and I haden’t gotten around to watching/listening to the track until today. But man am I glad that I did! This jam is one of those songs that makes you get that feeling inside that “Everything is gonna be alright.” It has a slower beat, but the words on top of it are truly what set the tone. It’s a good look at Sam Lachow’s versatility and growth. I’m excited to see what Sam has for his upcoming album, 5 Good Reasons, which will be released September 17th. We will of course will have it right here!
A new album hit Portland this week, and has already been received with open arms. Cool Nutz’s ”PORTLAND NI%#A” is not only new in the sense that it was recently released, but also in the sense that it is really something fresh. While maintaining the classic Northwest hip hop style, this album definitely has a personality of its own. It is smooth and chill; cool and laid back, but not without an attitude. From title track, “Portland Ni99a”, to the soulful “Know God”, every track on this album is fantastic. Cool Nutz does a great job of being real in his music, making listening to his tracks a very personal experience for fans.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis released the video for Thrift Shop, the second single off their upcoming album The Heist. As we expected this is a fun look into the Seattle Thrift Shop scene and of course it’s way over the top! It follows what Macklemore rhymes about during most of the song, you can see him in everything from a onesie to a nice fur coat. It’s nice to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis change up from the seriousness of some of their earlier releases (Same Love) and enjoy themselves a little bit. So far we have an interesting compolation for The Heist, so I’m excited to see what the album has in store!

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis just released Thrift Shop, the second single off of his upcoming album The Heist. It will be available on iTunes later today, and we will update this post when it is released! Macklemore has recently been running a photo contest for his fans to post their best photo of them in a Thrift Shop with their best thrift store finds!
Mike Champoux just released his second track in as many weeks called Summit Remix. It’s a little mix of techno, dubstep, and hiphop, a unique track to say the least. It has been interesting to see Mike’s style change from hiphop to techno, now to dubstep-hiphop. A mixture of things going on in this track.
Tomorrow!! The THRIFT SHOP single comes out on iTunes!! Then, the video on Wednesday!!
Today Eighty4 Fly released his most anticipated mixtape to date. COLORS is a unique look into the visual stimulation that music gives some people. This has to be one of the best mix tapes coming out of the Northwest this year! Eighty4 has spent the past few weeks releasing his first singles, Go Slow, Hammer and Kush High and promoting this tape with the tag line “COLORS is coming!”
